We had our first visitors a couple of weeks ago, and we had two different sets at the same time! Tyler's cousin Corey and his son Connor came out spur of the moment for Connor to look into playing basketball at a school in Virgina. After checking out the school they came up to see us and it was so wonderful to see them! We just love their family, they are so much fun and we always have a good time with them.
Tyler's friend from high school also just started medical school in Richmond so he and his wife came up to visit us as well. They are such a darling couple and we were so happy that they stayed with us. It was a little crazy having everyone come at the same time but everyone was so laid back and we all had a great time together.
Friday evening our first stop was Georgetown.
We showed everyone the School of Medicine where Tyler spends many hours a day in the dungeon in the basement. (But really all of his classes are in the same cement auditorium in the basement with no windows, poor guy.)
Walked around the rest of the campus and admired Healy Hall, one of the iconic buildings.
Afterwards we headed down to M Street for some dinner, delicious pizza at a Turkish restaurant, followed up by some dessert at...
They were tasty, but I have to admit I didn't think they were good enough to justify the price.
The next day, after spending about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to buy our subway tickets (I promise we're not stupid), us, Matt and Natalie met up with Connor and Corey downtown and cruised the National Mall.
After Corey and Connor left to catch a flight we went to the Smithsonian American History museum. I could spend weeks at all of the Smithsonian museums so it is always fun to go back. This time I got to see Dorothy's ruby slippers!
It was sad to see everyone leave but we had so much fun! It's always amazing to see our family and friends so if you haven't visited us yet you'd better start planning on it!
